Tom Forrestall RCA (1936-Present)

TTom Forrestal was born in Middleton, Nova Scotia. He attended Saturday morning classes at the Nova Scotia College of Art in Halifax. He later studied art at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick from 1954-1958 under Lawren Harris and Alex Colville. He worked as the assistant curator for the Beaverbook Art Gallery. In 1965, he held his first solo show at Roberts Gallery in Toronto, where he later held three more shows. He had two solo shows at the Kinkhoff Gallery in Montreal, Hart House at the University of Toronto, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Winnipeg Art Gallery and many others both public and private. He completed a large outdoor piece for Expo '67. He was elected a member of the Royal Canadian Academy in 1973.
